Station Stops Ahead
At the time of the Twentieth Anniversary period presentations and Scranton show (1993-1997),
I made a promise to formally present our family album to each succesive generation of the Coal Region
every twenty years. This website is the kick-off to that process for 2013 and the cyber-space substitute
to the many personal picture presentations which were given throughout the region during that time.
I greatly enjoyed those opportunities to personally meet you, my extended Hardcoal Family, in the many
communities throughout our region at that time. I would love to do it all again, but now have to keep pace
with the current generation and their preferred technology — the internet. With over three million of you
to reach, this is the best place to launch the Fortieth Anniversary Presentation period (2011-2014).
I'm currently in discussion with several key archives to see about getting pictures up on the walls across
the region again for you to view personally. Most can't be seen here in the examples presented on the
topic panels, and probably won't be displayed again in my lifetime. This site will be periodically updated
with information on venues and events. Please check back for current postings about where to see our
family album displayed. You may be surprised to find your hometown and familiar faces pictured there.
But, most importantly, the pictures are our regional reminder of who we are and how we came to be.
